Surfing
the web looking for yourself (as you do) or old school mates and eventually
you come across something as Jan did when she was suddenly confronted with
a picture of Crediton High School and me in the school uniform.
Jan admitted she would not have recognised me if I had not been in uniform - really! Needless to say I could not place Jan so the photos were rooted out and here she is and yes I do have a recollection of her and Simon as well - all very vague but certainly the faces are familiar. Simon attended Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School for boys, as it was known then. The two schools did not amalgamate until approximately 1964 - time correction welcomed as I left the school then and went to Tiverton Grammar School. In fact I left just as the building was nearing completion that had been erected on our games/hockey field. The boys were
known as 'grubs' because of the distinctive black blazers with yellow stripes.
Our blazer was grey with blue edging.
